Kapele, The Holy Trinity Church
The village of Kapele is located on the eastern outskirts of the Municipality of Brežice, on the border with Croatia.
The area of the Kapele local community consists of seven villages and lies in the lowlands descending towards the Sotla River. It is populated with 320 houses and 1200 inhabitants.
Only a few wooden farmhouses representative of interesting rural architecture remain of the once rich cultural heritage. The old village centre with the parish church, old school and a rectory is well preserved.
The subsidiary church of Sv. Trojica (Holy Trinity) stands next to the road leading to Dobova; it was built in 1777 and renovated in the 19th century.
