Cascina, Chruch of St. Savino
Badia di San Savino a Montione
The abbey unit can be dated between 1118 and 1134. The church was built with calcar blocks from Monte Pisano and shows the typical single aisled monastic structure. It has a "T" shaped presbytery with semicircular apse. A tumpanum closes the building with hut-roof. The church had a beautiful campanile with rectangular plant which was destroyed in 1943. The monastery way in is on the west side, and it is formed by a round arch.
