Provincia di Pisa (IT)

Pisa is a lively university city, in the past it was one of the 4 Seafaring Republics. Galileo Galilei was born here and many artists such as Giacomo Leopardi, Byron and Shelley moved to Pisa.
It is famous throughout the world due to its Tower and the square of Miracles has lots of other interesting places to visit, beautiful Romanic style churches, houses-towers, small alleys and squares. But since the Middle Ages, the period of utmost splendour, up until today its borders have been extended and now include the current area that ranges from the hills to the sea. The city centre is just the heart of the province, it is up to you to discover everything that surrounds it.
The city of Pisa has always been an attraction for tourists as it owns one of the seven marvels of the world. The Leaning Tower however is not the only beauty that the city has to offer. Every historical period that Pisa has gone through has left precious proof: from the Etruscans to the contemporary, crossing the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Mannerism and Romanticism.
So use the Tower as an excuse to see all the rest.
Reaching Pisa has never been easier thanks to the development of the International Airport Galileo Galilei of Pisa, an access point not only for the city (just 10 minutes away from the centre) but also for the rest of Tuscany.
